The author of a Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, Zeitoun, What is the What, and most recently A Hologram for the King will be making an appearance at Green Apple Books to sign copies of his latest book.
A Hologram for the King, set in a Saudi Arabian city, centers around a struggling businessman driven abroad by the possibility of foreclosure back home to keep his family together in a ruthless globalized economy.
Eggers is the founder of San Francisco-based and now defunct MIGHT magazine, the Believer, and Lucky Peach. He has also worked to create a number of non-profit writing centers across the country to nurture young writers and encourage the craft of writing, and founded ScholarMatch to connect students who cannot afford to pay for college with potential donors.
The signing will be from noon to 1 pm on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Green Apple Books in the Inner Richmond neighborhood.
