Recent Westmont College grad Joel Phillips presents a series of his latest sketches at the newest gallery to move into the Central Market neighborhood, Satellite 66.
Living near the corner of Sixth and Mission Street, Phillips often encounters a lot of downtrodden individuals that are invisible to the rest of the world, and whose very existence and humanity is often ignored.
Phillips has taken these anonymous figures from the streets and has rendered them in chiaroscuro, meticulously capturing their essence in vivid detail.
The opening reception for No Regrets in Life will be Friday, May 11 from 7 pm to 10 pm at the Satellite 66 gallery.
