Gallery Openings: Haight St. Fire Benefit & Alec Soth

With a holiday weekend ahead, the gallery scene is pretty much on hold. However, for you relentless art lovers, be sure to check out these two events.

This Black Friday, support local art and music for a cause at the Haight Street Fire Benefit Party. Festivities will include a live mural painting, silent auction and a great lineup of DJs. Proceeds will benefit victims of the recent Haight at Fillmore St. fire.

On Tuesday, photographer, Alec Soth, will speak at SFMOMA’s Artist Talk. Soth is known for present strange beauty in desolate spaces. Recently, he documented his road trip from Texas to California for Postcards from America.
