Literary Arts: Bukowski, Austen, Reitman, Haas & More
This week, the Literary Arts scene journeys from Bukowski to the Bayview Book Festival. Read on.
This Thursday, stop by City Lights and celebrate the release of More Notes of a Dirty Old Man: The Uncollected Columns by Charles Bukowski, with editor David Calonne.
Or, if you’re one to cozy up with a book on Friday nights, change it up a bit with Jane Austen Unscripted, an improvised play, performed by LA troupe, Improv Theatre, at the Bayfront Theatre.
For more of a family outing, check out the annual Bayview Book Festival, this Saturday, at the Bayview Opera House. While the day may be full of storytelling, music, arts and crafts for the wee ones, when the evening rolls around, head over to the Make-Out Room for Writers With Drinks: Janet Reitman and Charlie Haas. Reitman will discuss her work, Inside Scientology: The Story of America’s Most Secretive Religion and Haas, The Enthusiast — while we’re fans of the whole WWD series, this one’s especially worth checking out.
